East meets West in Vice Verse: Caribou remixes Belgrade Yard, Serbians at Mutek, Americans at Dispatch

The internationalists wet dream, Vice Verse is a mutal collaboration between Serbia’s leading electronics festival Dis-patch and the US Communikey. In April 2010, 15 artists, embarked on an extensive tour of 30+ Northern American cities with stops at Quebec’s renowned Mutek festival unleashing a heady dose of live music, audio visual shows, DJ sets, new media workshops and other projects such as a the exhibition of prints developed by the art director of Dis-patch Nebojsa Cvetkovic. The European leg of the tour will commence at the imminent 2010 editon of the Dis-patch festival. 

As an audio memory, the folks have teamed up with the digital online shop Zero Inch and put together a compilation of tasty Serbian and US sonic offerings, including a Caribou remix of the now-defunct outfit Belgrade Yard, one of the doyens of the Serbian independent scene alongside tracks by Woo, 2step/bass-oriented Piece of Shh.., US postrock trio D Numbers or an exclusive track by Sutekh. Watch out for the next compilation, out on 7 October, that will mark the EU par of the tour.
