The Polish label Audiotong with all its various activities has been intent on fostering the local scene and exposing it to the world. Through compilations of Polish musicians (prepared for the Wire magazine) or individual releases, Audiotong has proven that contemporary Polish seen is definitely worth keeping an eye on.

The label’s latest endeavour is rooted on its home turf – in Krakow. Highlighting the activities of the Eszeweria bar in the city’s Kazimierz district, one of the few places supporting any kind of outthere music. “The Muzykoterapia concert series showcased pretty much every musician living in Krakow who was focused on the music in the very first place, and who didn’t really care about popularity. In fact the venue’s concert room could host no more than 50 people in the audience, which anyway happened rarely, and was a subject both to jokes as well as complaints.”

This compilation presents various musicians with ties to this singular venue – local but at the same time transgressing local context through quality.
