Jakub Adamec is an artist and member of the bacchanalian Silesian band I Love 69 Popgeju and his solo album bears the stamp of his main musical occupation. An opulent, cacophonic sonic puzzle made of manipulated soundtracks originally created for his videos. Composed of various spoken-word soundbites in various languages close to Jakub – his mother tongue Czech, the language of his adopted home Poland, and our lingua franca English.
All is processed through a fog of psychedelia, cut up collages and samples sometimes reminding of the inane experiments and plunderphonics of the Residents or Negativland, with a dash of rave and sentimental electronics. It gives the listener no mercy, an onslaught of aural information, but eventually, after the human ear gets used to the constant flow of bits, bytes, muffled voices and beats emanating from the distance, it turns into a sonic film for the ADHD generation.
The album is out on the resurrected Polish label Mik Musik.
