We are teaming up with the Novo Doba festival to deliver an evening with three of the most interesting Belgrade-based electronica producers, all of whom have a penchant for beats, bass and urban culture. Thursday 15 September 2011 in Pancevo, Serbia.
MANGULICA FM (SRB)
Luka Papic’s last release The Third Eye EP is a sonic journey through abstract landscape of dub and instrumental hip-hop significantly influenced by ex-yugo folk. Even though folk is not so popular between the alternative youth, Mangulica still uses samples of local ethno and folk music and fuses them together in order to create an original take on contemporary Serbian urban sound that is aware of its past.
RAP CATS (SRB)
Belgrade’s backstreet feline collective Rap Cats carries the leftfield electronica flag. Although there is no rap in Rap Cats the hip-hop street-culture influences are clear but twisted into a freaky, and almost psychedelic urban-paranoia, expressed via laidback meandering walls of synth and heavy bass.

ZMIKEO! (SRB)
The latest discovery of the Belgrade scene is also a fan of hiphop as well as being influenced by drum and bass. Zmikeo!’s tracks have the lo-fi, angry and unpolished quality that could be ascribed to UK grime, it’s only that he comes from Belgrade and not a London suburb.
