In the last few days, we have been bringing you the updates from the fertile sonic fields of our Polish neighbours. Nevertheless, let’s briefly return to our preceding trip to Romania. The following musicians deserve recognition alas for one reason or another we did not meet them in person during our trip to this lovely country – from Romanian “musique concrete” via teenage manele to inane plunderphonics, these are the guys who you should keep an eye on.

Mastino Surfers is a mysterious music collective based in the Transylvanian culture hub Cluj. They describe themselves as “cosmic tsunami tube riding” and their music doesn’t even need some bullshit blog hype, it simply speaks for itself. ‘nuff said. Check out their Myspace here.

Bogardo’s Way a plunderphonics fanatic from Bucharest.

Bitum – psyched electronics from south Romania. Check out his stuff here.

And last, but definitely not least – judging by the response this track has received from everyone who’s heard it so far, is the manele star Ionut Cercel.
